For those of you registered with the NICEIC (AC or DI) how often do the periodic assessment visits occur?
The anniversary of my last visit was Aug 2012, and I have not been contacted by the NICEIC for an assessment date. They have invoiced me and taken my money and I am still on the register. I know of another electrician and he has not had an assessment for over two years. Checking my previous correspondence I notice it is called a PERIODIC assessment and not an ANNUAL assessment. Have other NICEIC members had extended periods between assessments? Also I wonder if this extended assessment period if going to create problems for my renewal of my ECS Qualified Supervisor card? My DI was annual, and having just passed my full scope assessment I believe it will be annual for the first year and periodic there after, a few of the full scope chaps that I know havent been assessed for 2 years now ....... so possibly may be the same for you.

I think that the Schemes assess annually - unfortunately, they seem to have re-defined the terms "annual", "competent" and "person".
You couldn`t make it up, could you? |

That's funny, I'm sure there should've a separate Wikipedia for NICEIC terms. ------------------------- Regards Martyn. There must be at least one inspection every 3 years,
See item 12 in the link below: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/34846/2156713_1_.pdf |

There must be at least one inspection every 3 years, See item 12 in the link below: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/34846/2156713_1_.pdf The document refers to "risk-based" assessment - but this does not explain lack of assessment before June 2012 - so there must be another explanation. Perhaps the Schemes can explain, in a PUBLIC forum? - after all, they ARE Government authorised and must adhere to their terms of authorisation - or do they? |
