Can anyone advise how to link a pdf sketch to a posting please.

I want to throw a schematic diagram out here for opinions but cannot link it??

Host it on a file sharing site - a bit too much for me i'm afraid, being an IT dinosaur.

Oh well, looks like I will just have to debate the schematic with myself then - should be an interesting arguement, which I am sure I will win.

Cheers, that's an interesting link Dougie, seems i'm not the only one who wants to do this.

Still doesn't resolve my inability to find a host/file sharing site and link from there - I think it would take longer for me to learn this than it would for me to have a fight with myself about my query and come to an amicable solution.

I signed up with http://www.photobucket.com and upload my images to there - they even give you a URL to copy to link to your image. It's not really any harder than anything else on the web.

I've tried your link to photobucket.

My works PC / network connection wont allow me to access such a hosting site - therefore I will assume they are somehow classified as insecure.

Thats my opportutniy to upload anything at a reasonable hour gone then.

Just a shame there wasn't a simple link facility when posting a message so you could quickly upload a photo or PDF image direct from your PC hard drive.

I.T. can be such a wonder yet such a pain.

Ah. You probably need to talk to your infrastructure people then, see if you can get it whitelisted. I suspect the problem is that if this site hosted large files of basically unknown contents (i.e. images), then it'd end up of the same lists as photobucket

Try using File Dropper, it's very simple:

You just click the Upload File button, choose the file from your computer!

You don't need to have an account to use it.

Once the file has been uploaded, it will provide you with a link to paste onto online discussion forums etc.

I see it doesn't seem to accept my " jpeg or gif" image links,.
(At least not in preview mode).

eg one below is a jpg, but it doesn't render, possibly because end of file name on site is not".JPG" but ".JPG$ASSET";

Almost certainly - most web servers use the file extension to deduce the MIME type (the tag they send to browsers to tell them how to process that item). You can always save a copy, renaming it to .jpg (or .jpeg) and upload it to a hosting site (copyright permitting).

Best to use JPEG files and resize to a max of 600. Photobucket allows you to resize.
