Hello, Have any of you PAT tested on portable medical devices. The cost of these machines must be enormous & I am not enthusiastic about damaging 1 of them. Any experiences ?

As vaguely mentioned in the forum thread that jcm256 links to above, there is special test equipment for testing medical equipment.
It shouldn't be done with a standard PAT tester, and is done to specific standards that are no longer covered by the IET Code of Practice. If anyone doesn't know what these standards are, or involve, then they shouldn't be attempting to test medical equipment (and I include myself in that). Rigel Medical (a division of Seaward) make a range of testers (or 'Electrical Safety Analysers' as they are called), that might look a tad familiar: Rigel Medical |
