Still ridiculous. How much is a hager rcbo. About half that. But not half the quality. The enclosures of mg are superior, but when you fill it up with mcb's, rcbo's, etc simply ridiculous. Diminishing returns and all that.

Oh I'm not sure another that leckie, hager rcbo's are c 24.45 so £10 cheaper mcbs are about the same, but tbh and it's only a personal opinion hager 3ph boards are pretty crap by comparison.

The Square D 3ph boards are okay. I've never seen a decent hager be it 3ph or single phase.
(come to think of it haven't square d been bought by Schneider) |

I recently bought some sp rcbo.s for £27 00,the breakers and incommers are cheaper than MG & the doors do,nt fall off like Sq D. Hz. |

(come to think of it haven't square d been bought by Schneider) Group Schneider re branded MG a couple of years ago, the do own and operate several brands Merlin gerin (formally) Telemecanique, Square D, GET, Mita etc etc As for Square D, well lets just say never ever again. ------------------------- Regards Martyn. Wylex are ok, good on price. Apart from the fact RCBOs & MCBs are different for single phase boards than those for three phase boards!

I'm sure I could be called a fan boy for MG, I have tried several other TP&N boards including Wylex, I find them a bit flimsy very similar to Crabtree's offering ------------------------- Regards Martyn. Colin,
Is it an advantage to have different mcb,s for 3 phase boards,so that a 6k mcb is not fit in a 3 phase board? Regards, Hz. |

They are exacty the same board with a different badge. We done a price comparison between the brands which was interesting too ;-) Stu |

im talking 3 ph here.
It goes without saying that we would all prefer to work with MG. As for wylex - come on, their DBs are huge for the amount of MCBs they can accommodate. I've never purchased Square D, but I have fitted a few. |

Mg is good if your doing high end commerical or data centres as the range is so large with things like changeover swicthes for multiple supplies with interlocking keys and all that jazz
But for most stuff I use exclusively harder and it's ace ------------------------- Keep up with the antics of the UK,s most humoured electrical company Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RtIndustriaLtd Twitter: @rtindustria |

You'll be taking any suitable actions if you have independantly operating UPS or similar equipment downstream I guess Martyn - switching that neutral in some circumstances isn't at all helpful to safety. Regards OMS ------------------------- Failure is always an option |

Regards OMS Somehow I don't think that is going to be an issue...😜 ------------------------- Regards Martyn. Only a mediocre person is always at their best www.electrical contractors uk.com |

OK - just a word to the wise in that case - I've seen too many cases of a designers desire to go for 4 pole in the belief it's safer become totally unglued once UPS with solid neutral references are involved.
