Touching wood none for me either today, normally the elements on the ovens go , or it gets cold and frozen pipes etc, but none of that today yippee, am so confident that i might just crack open a bottle of chateau neuf de pape lol, only a small glass though, not that confident!.

Just goes to show how much improved installations etc. have got.
I used to work a shift system where we worked 9 days on, 4 days off, then 6 on and 2 off etc. For some reason, Christmas day and Boxing day shifted so I always ended up working on those days and you could always rely on being called out 3 or 4 times. Do you still get the 'It.'s been playing up for a while, but gave up today (of all days)'? ------------------------- Norman |

The "Old Chestnut" one is
"we have a damaged cable/faulty bit and are going away on holiday tomorrow/having friends around for xmas etc". When you go to fix it they are grateful and you ask when the damage occurred, expecting the answer to be today/yesterday/last week. Lo and behold, invariably the answer you get is "Oh it happened 6 months ago but we thought we`d better get it fixed `cos we need it now!" Only one call-out yesterday for me.
RCD would not reset after tripping. Eventually traced fault to beer spilt into an extension lead that fed a table lamp & Christmas Tree. Power restored when lead unplugged. Everyone happy. Me back home in time for lunch. Regards Mike |
