Does any one have an opinions of the wilts own brand consumer unit and RCBO units. I have just had a tight job dropped on me and would like not to increase the job to much as I am finishing it off for some one else

We have been using the BG stuff on domestic jobs. Pretty decent with a good amount of space for wiring RCBO's. I think they are around £50/£60 for a dual RCD board. Not too shabby.

The wilts stuff is from control gear direct. There are people on here that have been using it for ages before wilts took it on, and I've never heard bad comments about it. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the control gear direct brand will be along shortly to tell us more...

Control gear direct is good stuff. Owned by lewden. The people that make the metal round sockets. For about the last 50years. They were at electrex

I have used lots of CGD c/units in the past, never had the slightest problem with them. Only stopped using them as the on-line supplier I was using packed it in!

You can buy them from Denmans electrical wholesalers if you have one local.

Unfortunately my nearest would be Littlehampton, about 50 miles away, pity really as I have loads of spare CGD mcb's!

So do I as they come fully loaded. The empty boards are about the same price as the loaded boards though

I fitted one about 2 months ago. Not too bad, but not good either.
I stick with crabtree boards. |
