Flicking through this months ECA comic (I think?) I spotted an advert for PoE socket outlets (one half standard 16A s/o the other RJ45 outlets). I don't have it to hand, does anyone know (a) who makes these and (b) are they any good? Many thanks, S. |

Sounds like a powerline adaptor built into a mains socket faceplace - this is NOT PoE - Power over Ethernet sticks a (software controlled) d.c. voltage across spare pairs in the 4-pair data cable and so utilises a normal 8P8C (a.k.a. RJ45) connector.
