Was asked to look at a heating system that was completely wired wrong by some cowboy and not working. I sorted it all out. All the cabling for both valves, stats etc were all in the programmer and no wiring centre. Has anyone seen that done before ?

Yes, but the joints were in a 35mm ko box and the programmer was fixed tonthe box.

It was ok, the zone valves were under the kitchen worktop in a dead space under the boiler, so it actually worked well.

Wll, it does sound bad. Potterton do supply a programmer where all the connections are done in back of it, so maybe one of those was fitted beforehand.
Or, maybe the fitter had no idea?

wiring centres have their uses, mainly for paint by numbers, orange wires goes in 3 etc etc type wiring.
If it can be done by someone from memory, as long as someone else can work out what they have done no probs.
Millions of new builds have it done in a normal 35mm box and some strips...............
