Priceing a job, anyone see any problems as know im up against others and pretty sure im only one going to TT it.

Situation: large advertising TV, located outside.

Ground cabinet (similar to street lighting distribution boards) concreted into ground. Scottish power DNO running new supply cable to this and providing new connection, can guarantee it will be TNCS as new connection.

Im going to install 63amp 3 phase 16mm 5 core SWA (15meter run), with 100mA RCD protection for 11.5kva load (apparently equipment can peak at 14kva for very short periods of time, and install TT earth stake ran through ducting to earth stake (less than 3 meters from DB, in 16mm tri rated earth) near foundations of DB panel. 100% not connecting anything to DNO earth as will be using TT.

16mm SWA will be ducted to advertising TV, on 24hours 7 days a week.

EDITED to add, large TV is ground mounted and can be touched bt persons, ie not wall mounted or mounted on roof or anything like that.

Opinions, i missed anything?

Have you checked out the natural earth leakage current form this beastie ? The large screens that I used to have to provide temp power for on the Festival circuit had quite high leakage currents due to filters on the mains inputs ... these was no way Id ever get a 100mA RCD to be stable!

Perhaps a chat with the manufacturer/importer is in order?

Adrian

PS. Dougie - The video boys would often play porno flicks on the screens to 'check the flesh tones' the first time I ever saw a 42m screen filled by a 'lady garden' was frightening!

I doubt they will give you TNCS for a supply like that, the DNO will probably insist on TT.
