Im renewing my insurance at the moment but i am now doing ECIR's for rented houses, etc, and I am not sure what the insured sum should be Has anyone got any idea as my insurers didn't seem to be able to offer much advice

I think the norm for most schemes is £250K PI but that obviously can vary depending on what you doing.

My PLI is £5Million and my PI is £250K.

Sure there is some additional cover like Financial loss etc at about £100K.

My cover at the moment is 2 million PI, 10 million EL and 500k PI cover.
On the schedule it say financial loss no covered What is it and do I need it?

Intellectual property.
Non performance.
Offshore installations.
Deliberate act.

Radioactivity.
Rectification of defects.
War and act of God.

This list is not exhaustive, get your insurers to outline what you are not covered for.
