When completing the 'Supply Characteristics and Earthing Arrangements' section of the EIC, for an industrial site with transformers supplying distribution and sub-distribution, what supply characteristics should be enetered? e.g. for a transformer supplying a switchboard #1 which then supplies a sub-distribution switchboard, #2, which in turn supplies a local distribution board, which supply characteristics should be entered for the local distribution board - those for the transformer/switchboard #1, switchboard #2 or the switch details supplying the DB (with whatever protective device parameters are fitted such as a fuse, MCCB or mcb etc.)?

The supply characteristics at the origin must be recorded whether or not your coming off a board down stream
A photo copy of previous cert which contains supply characteristics stating where information obtained On your cert it will say see attached sheet job done MrP |

Thats how we do it. The protective device for the downstreem boards is recorded on the test sheet later along with the ZE for that board.

Method of eaerthing directly off transformer will be TNCS (PNB) assuming they are the only customer off it. However the bonding requirements don't need to meet PME standard, just the same as all other earthing arrangements in the regs.

UKPN's earthing manual states the customer's electrical installation requirements are exactly the same as for PME where PNB is present.
