Had my van robbed last night just outside of Croydon, London.

Please be on the look out for my Fluke 1653B S/N 8866032

Report to Surrey Police DC Dave Every - Incident Number TD/12/5316

Had over £2k worth of tools stolen and £1500 of damage to the Van. As you can imagine I'm gutted.

Many thanks in advance.

Understandably, very sorry to hear that.

So sorry, How did they get into your van and what if anything do you think would have made a difference? What van did you have and was it sign written?

Dale, gutted for you. Been there.

I'm off the electrical tools for the next two weeks at least, possibly three apart form weekend jobs. What do you need to borrow? The megger is going in for calibration but other basics on offer.

Bucks...nice tea, no cake unless you bring it.

sorry to hear that,
I've "been there and got the tee shirt" Earlier this year I had my van stolen, everything nicked and then the van burnt out. Dont wanna put a damper on it but from my experience I wouldn't hold my breath in the hope of getting anything back, its probably all been sold for drugs money by now and up north somewhere ready for the next car boot sale.

Btw a few weeks ago I had my card cloned in Croydon after using it in a cash machine, within a few hours I had bought a new TV and Hi Fi in China and has my account cleared out,

I hate reading things like this.

It's not just tools that are taken but the means to work and earn a living.

I hope things get sorted out soon for you Dale and hopefully the (can't think of a befitting word for the thieves, without getting banned) are caught.

I had some of my tools stolen a few years back, luckily they were disturbed so not much was taken but it is a gut wrenching experience.

Have you considered security marking your tools? I use Alpha-dot on all my bits now (I'm not affiliated, just a customer) and put the shiny stickers on the van, larger tools etc. Not to mention that the van is now more secure than a Securicor van!
