The same DNO have changed out a few in my local area
The one between my local sub and the neighbouring one was done last year. I know because it's at the front of my mates driveway and there was a sizeable hole to allow the jointers to work for a couple of days. Stu |

We have been cutting out and replacing a fair few recently to be fair. Problems come when in busy high st areas and you may have legs going to pot ends etc.

Nothing new here I'm afraid. There is a NAMP (Network Asset Management Plan) and it includes a link box inspections. But in reality very little effort is made to inspect Link Boxes at regular intervals.
Secondary 11kv/400v substations should get an annual inspection, but the quality of the inspection will vary depending upon the competence of the individual and if its carried out by a direct UKPN employee or a contractor. Hopefully both of these events have been reported under both RIDDOR and ESQCR and should raise an eyebrow with the friendly HSE inspector for UKPN, Mr John Steed. Anyway the UKPN public safety team will have something to keep them busy for a few weeks. |
