It's to detect forgeries.
With the fakeregs book the ink dries, whereas with the real ones the ink never actually dries fully. If you rub the page on a piece of white paper it will smudge ink. Be warned: On your annual appraisal, if the scheme operator finds you with a fake Regs Book, you'll have to resit a full assessment at full fee. ------------------------- S George http://www.state-it.com |

Seem fine in mine.... the ink at least (although the meaning of the words is often fuzzy).

It definitely doesn't happen on mine, i've just tried it, are you sure it's not the fake ones that don't dry Stateit?

Just noticed the words smudge quite easily in my regs book!!! That's to make it easier to rub out the mistakes when they're found. |
