Hi all,

Been a long while I know but have been concentraiting on other avenues over the past year or so and have decided to return to the "dark art".

Looking at getting into an emerging techology but have get manufacturer approved to install thier products, now has anyone else been through the mill with a manufacturer based training scheme and how did it pan out.

A bit of topic I know

Regards

Not from the last one I did two years ago. One call from a customer redirected from their website - but quote not accepted - customer decided to do it themselves!

No not in Scotland ... im the the other end, and appologies for having fat fingers as "M" should have been a "K".

Been looking for an opportunity to come my way for a while, hopefully the course will pay for its self, not expecting miracles this year but maybe towards the end of 2013 begining of 2014.

Kind Regards

Hi Davy,

Yes I cant see any problem with any aspect of the idea, just thinking that more and more people seem to be attracted to "stickers" on vans, and how those that have in the s'west seem to be very busy.
Daft I know but that is how people and companies think, and being manufacturer approved may help also.
The outlay is very minimal, and 1 job would pay for the lost days pay and hotel/fuel bill and course fee.

Hi Darren

I've done a few courses now, some have paid off to some degree, others I treated as a day out with a free lunch and I bit of knowledge gained.

A couple of manufacturers are offering EV charging training, apparently Rolec have loads of enquiries but amshortagemof installers, I did the Schneider one and haven't had a sniff of anything EV related since! On the other hand, I went up to do a course with Schneider the other week on their new wireless automation range, and have two potential jobs lined up already. Just waiting for confirmation of price which looks as though it may be prohibitive.

It's horses for courses I think, if the product is a known brand that consumers will go to direct then it could be a good move. If its a product that relies on the likes of us to sell it, then that's exactly what you will have to do. They won't ask if they don't know you do it!
