good afternoon guys and gals.
when an heating engineer swaps just the combi boiler in a domestic property what actually is the requirements for supplementary bonding of the boiler and does the bathroom pipework rad etc still need to be bonded if the existing install isnt upto 17th edition?

None really - you would expect adequate continuity through the gas and CWS to the LTHW and HWS. There is a small risk that you lose continuity through any F&E tank that may be fitted - but equally, that should also isolate the downstream pipework from being extraneous

Well, bonding (as the 16th edition) is still required if all circuits of the location are not RCD proteced and you cannot verify the adequacy of main bonding see 701.415.2

Although, like all these things BS 7671 isn't retrospective. If there is no supplementary bonding, then probably worthy of a comment if there is also no RCD protection
