Yes, I have heard of that, the employee leaves to go to a competitor, immediately the company blanks out his computer from any contact with company business, have received on one or two occasions a e-mail from one of his/her colleagues with a message saying goodbye, on his/her behalf. Yes, garden leave seen them operate that to, may make that person sit at home to work out their period of notice of leaving, in which they can't start with the new company until that period is ended.
Can you stop an apprentice leaving, and forming a new company in competition after you have trained him/her? Well maybe not, there is no policing in the lower archives electrical industry anyhow. |

Is this a proposal to bring back the one time requirement of having 3 years work under your own S/E belt before you could apply to be a NICEIC Approved Contractor and that membership of the ECA was conditional upon being a NICEIC Approved Contractor? Regards BOD |

It's been brewing for a while. Apparently two of the brothers were left the mainland Europe arm of the Cef empire in a will, and have decided now to come to Britain and open. There are rumours of branches opening between now ad the end of the year. It as also resulted in Cef buying cable from places other than Doncaster, who can only sell to Cef, apparently in an effort to bring them to the brink for Cef to buy them out at the last minute. As the yesss brothers had shares in Doncaster, Cef were effectively funding them!
All of the above is based on things heard in Cef branches, rival wholesalers, supplier reps etc. there are obviously lots of tight lips, so nothing can be confirmed. ------------------------- Regard Richard (Dick) www.rllewellyn.co.uk |
