Must admit that although i've worked on farms in the past for employers, it's only fairly recent that i've had to get stuck into the regs concerning these - just having a quick look at the 16th and the system in that seems a bit more common sense - ie where the special location requires something different to the standard regs it often says reg xxx-xx-xx is relaced by reg 605-xx-xx.

if you think about it all tails on a TT supplies are un protected...

Not protected by ADS, but hopefully protected by double or reinforced insulation or equivalent.

From a description by the owner, it sounds like it's going to be TN-S, he says theres a separate earth cable been run between the intake and the transformer, that has been staked at several points in the trench, though I've yet to confirm this with the authoroties.
