Hi,
We generally use a 'light blue' neutral inside our control panels for the neutral conductor as per BSEN60204-1, where it quite clearly requires this if no other form of identification is used. It does not however, inform us what colour to use if we identify it by any other means (critchley markers etc.) We had a panel recently with a larger than usual transformer inside that required us to use 16mm2 light blue cable, but we could not get hold of any. This would indicate that no one else uses light blue at such larger sizes within their control systems. So what colour does everyone else use ? Red ? Cheers, Bob. |

Hi Bob,
Grey would seem a suitable substitute, ringed, possibily with some blue sleeving Legh ------------------------- Why do we need Vernier Calipers when we have container ships? http://www.leghrichardson.co.uk "Science has overcome time and space. If the neutral is part of a mains voltage circuit, as is likely if as large as 16mm, then ordinary blue conduit cable or tri-rated switchgear cable seems to be the norm.
If the neutral is part of an extra low voltage control circuit, then white, or blue with white tape, or white with blue tape all seem to be common. |
