Seriously though, nothing wrong in being ayed in cash, as long as you declare it. Now if he had said that the black economy was costing us a fortune, which contains notn declared earnings, we might not have laughed so much at the absurdity of the statement....

Which statement is correct?

HMRC charge a surcharge to those paying tax by credit card.

HMRC offer a discount to those paying cash or by debit card.

When I took on my first workshop in 2000 it was an old dump of a place in a town centre.

There was an upstairs office area at one end and someone had made a bit of a bedroom up there. The old boy who was retiring said that one of his apprentices got kicked out of home so made a bed up there.

Never did believe him and the locals soon filled in the details.
