Im going to be upgraped to win7 at work soon. I dont think my old copy of power pat plus will work.

I just need to be able to manually enter data and print off certificates.

Can anyone recommend some software.

I had a similar problem, I think you can get some software from MS that emulates old windows systems but only works on the pro W7

I bought an old laptop on ebay to run my powerpat

Windows 7 has a compatibility mode and will run the system you are using now . Give it a try first before you take drastic steps.
I had this problem with a Seaward software and using compatibility sorted it.

From the start bar select all programs. Select the programme you require then right click on it, a box will open - left click on properties , another box will open and you will see a list of choices in the top bar.Left click compatibility and then select the system you want to run your software in from the drop down menu.

PS . You will need to left click on the box where it says ' run this programme in compatibility mode for' then left click the drop down box and select the operating system you knew your software worked in.

I use the megger 402 and it comes with the power suite software. Takes some time to figure it out at first but once you've sussed it then it's great and fast. Problem is its expensive, £1600 I paid, but I've got my money back by saving time and not saving to manually enter results, the software just downloads the results for you onto a report.
