Evening
I have to extend some 6mm 4 core swa's currently used for commercial washing machines. In order to save time and money I wondered if it would be acceptable to extend them using YY 5 core cable. Any thoughts welcome Regards Ady ------------------------- Resistance is futile. |

How do you intend to join the cables? Im thinking It could be more time consuming trying to create a suitable joint.

Probably could do it with a decent IP rated with M20 knockouts. Metal sheath and any internal CPCs will need interlinking (off earth-tag/banjo or earthed-lockring.)
Obvious question: -Compatibility of current-capacities. -Accessibility to joints (may need to through-crimp.) -Suitability of JB and YY for environ. -Provisions for mechanical protection. Etc. Etc. |

In the existing consumer unit, there's plenty of room. Regards Ady ------------------------- Resistance is futile. |
