which brand of crimps (and crimping tool) would you use and reccomend to make a straight through joint in twin and earth cable which the manufacturer gives the thumbs up to solid cores being crimped :-)

I got these Facom crimping toolsand have been very happy with them. They were recommended on here, so thanks OMS.

Where does impvan get these quality crimps? I can't even find them online!

The last lot came from RS. I've also had them from Farnell, usually a bit cheaper.

At an Elex event about three years ago and the bods were proudly displaying their all singing, all dancing crimping tools. Having inspected it I asked if it came with a calibration certificate. Few seconds silence accompanied by blank stare followed up with a quick "We can get you one!" I didn't think so. Elpress, however, sell you a tool with a calibration certificate and the tool is stamped as "certified".
