I wonder if the government has taken on the role of designer under CDM in making this decision.

I wonder if the the meter manufacturers have already committed to their designs and pleaded excessive costs if they now have to change their designs/tooling/moulds etc at the last minute.
The sensible way forward might be to specify that DP isolation needs to be provided - but leave it up to the market on how to achieve that - i.e. whether to select a meter with a built-in isolator or provide a separate REC2 or similar. There seems to be some hope in the "help stakeholders find an alternative solution" bit. - Andy. |
