Steering wheel lock, pedal lock and or hand-break lock.

How far must one go....

DPF'S are being stolen at a rate of knots around here! any suggestions other than dig a parking trench?

hi Dougie
sorry I forgot to email you back. Thanks for your kind offer.

I've spent a couple of hundred quid buying basic hand tools and a cheap multi meter, so now it is really just cordless tools I am short of, i have managed to borrow an old fluke multi tester.

All my old 110V stuff has been dragged oit of the back of my garage, but it is a pain in the ass having to get out a transformer and leads just to drill a couple of holes, but hey ho I am back working.

There's a lot of it about, check your rear view mirrors when driving. See the Rumanian technique on the motorway, for breaking into lorries.

Dave,

Sorry been away from the forum, moving house and then holiday which wasn't the best of plans.

Really sorry to hear your news, little ba****ds should be hung.

Someone crawled under my ranger over jubilee weekend and helped themselves to the DPF / CAT, cost me over £500 to get over it which was cheap considering the Ford replacement was about £3K.

What's really annoying is it was parked 2 ft from my front door on the drive at the time.

It's about time these low lifes were brought to justice, either formally or with a large base ball bat.

Can't help much with replacements I'm afraid at the moment as most of my odds and ends of test gear is still in boxes from the house move but as I unpack I'll pm you if there's anything of use.

hi Stu
I now have a length of 185mm tri rated cable down by my drivers, so if i ever catch them i will let them have the cable,,,, around their knees, certainly sounds like they are still in the area as I know 3 other people that have had their broken into this week and like i say thats just people I know, so I wonder how many more have been done?

Mine was the only van stolen so I guess the police maybe right, they stole the van because that was easier than trying to break into the back in broad day light,

ive been looking on ebay and i'm amazed how many second hand makita things there are for sale, while some sellers are only selling one thing, others have lots of different things and not from just one manufacturer, lets be honest as a trades person would you have cordless makita drills, screw drivers etc, dewalt cordless saws and bosh cordless stuff aswell.

As you say Markespark the people buying the stuff know they are stolen, mine had my postcode and house number engraved on the tool body and in the battery compartment.

I guess all the screwdrivers and other hand tools are just put in some buckets and sold for a couple quid as a job lot of secondhand tools at car boot sales

Well, people do mix'n'match Dave.

If I was to eBay my tools at the moment I'd be selling 4 x Makita, 3 x DeWalt and 1 x Bosch... I pick up whatever's good of it's range if it's on offer at LawsonHIS, Axminster etc.

ok so I see my theory has gone out of the window already. I just thought trades people stuck with one brand of cordless stuff to cut down on the number of batteries they needed
