As i've got an hour to kill before my first job of the day and the fact my shelf with my purchase invoices is about to give way due to the weight, I've just shredded some 2003 purchase invoices, my advice is never to start looking at a few:

(all ex vat except diesel)

6242y 1.5mm £13.00 now £30.00

Diesel 77.9p litre now £1.40

EDF service relocation £295 now £1300 plus

Mobile phone £55.00 pm now £30.00pm


I don't think I want to look at any more, yes the phone bill has come down but as for everything else it's more than double, I know oil and copper are not a good benchmark but think what it will cost in 2111!!

Wish my earnings went up like copper and fuel prices.

my labour rate has more than doubled in the same period so not so bad .
