Hi I have been asked if i could be on stand by over christmas for one day (not a bank holiday) for a company i do some work for, they are having a shut down and want me on call incase there any problems when they power back up.

I have never been asked for a stand by rate before, should i say less than my normal day rate, the same or more?

Try double time or time half depending what date in Christmas

why not try 4hrs for call out plus hrs worked from time phone rang most standard terms follow this and if you can swing it a retainer for being on call
