Hi there is there a reg how close a extractor grill can sit near a window ? Also whats the distance from a flue outlet that a grill must be ? Thanks guys

Guidance rather than direct regs but this might help: http://www.nhbc.co.uk/Builders...edownload,37239,en.pdf (I think I'd treat an extractor grill like an openable windows as far as its closeness to gas/oil flues are concerned - as both can let air/gasses back into the building (regardless of any backdraught shutter).

Well is there a risk of air being sucked in through the window and pumped out by the fan to go round again ? Maybe possible to cowl the outlet to direct away from the opening. I'd aim for a foot or so at least unless I could do that.
Note though that the formal answer is zero, as you are allowed to mount a fan in a window,
though there are not many places that think it is a good idea

Common sense rather than a reg tells me not to drill a 4 inch hole where it might compromise a lintel over a window.
