Has anyone else come across this system?:

I saw a similar one in 2010 - but it seems the marketing for the one above is dominating the scene.

I'm interested in opinions on this. My view is the BS 1363 compliance probably isn't in place - with particular emphasis on arcing.

Interesting idea. I presume they have been careful enough with the finger gaps to meet the letter of the required IP ratings for trunking with holes in it, much in the way of a cordless kettle. I'm not sure it would have been proof against me as a youngster, I reckon there are various kitchen tools that could be easily mis-used to create an impressive flash..
The write up has a number of errors in it that make me think it is translated from the foreign, and its not clear how well L_N polarity is guaranteed, though install instructions imply that it has a definite sense of up and is IP 2x.

This is the product I came across in 2010:

http://www.mainlinepower.com/home/

And their powerline adapters:

There's obvious limitations - but also options for application.

I'll admit my biggest concern is misuse, kids will get their paperclips or anything else in there without a proper shutter system.
