I have currently enrolled on year 2 of hnd systems eng coarse and am looking at offshore work on completion because of age am not looking to further my career past technician level although will prob do degree part time for own gratification my problem is lack of practical on experience "not time served" anyone no of practical coarses that my suit? spent 30 years in construction as bricklayer also have domestic gas tickets

To get onshore you've got to get all your tickets, I've a few friends who work offshore. It's all about getting your first trip out, even if its as the pot wash in the kitchen. Adecco where taking on for the rig kitchens.

Then I suppose you'd have to try and get a labourer or a mates position and work up.

Perhaps volunteer with an onshore team whilst your studying, to gain the experience to transfer offshore in a year or so.
