Hi, I am stuck between two options of doing scripting languages or Unix, Linux and X. They both appeal to me but which one would be better after I graduate, by looking for a job (if there are any about).
Thanks Sarah |

Scripting languages such as Perl, TCL and Expect etc are worth learning about as they are used in performing automated tasks otherwise done by human operators. Therefore they are a very important set of skills to have under your belt when applying for jobs in computing.
You will end up learning about operating systems such as Unix, Linux etc as you will use them in helping you create and run your scripting languages. Hope that helps. |
