Let me explain my thinking.
Human and animals breath in oxygenated air and exhaust CO^2
Trees and flora breath in carbon dioxide CO^2 and exhaust oxygen

To balance more human/animals then more trees/grass are needed

But look at what is happening, we are clearing forests and building over the land at the same time as expanding not only the human population but also the animals to feed us with proteins. We are out of balance and car and power station emissions are just a marginal add-on problem.

What to can we do to re-balance the atmosphere??

1. Plant more trees (short term solution).

2. Find a new planet (and ways of getting there).

3. Technological solution?

4. Other proposals that shouldn't be considered by right-minded people.

Such is the success of human inventiveness and discovery ... the warped and cynical conclusion being that we are in a myre of our own making: medicine and technology have advanced so far, that we may well now just kill everyone by trying to preserve and promote human life.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

On 3., yes there might be a chance, but as the Northern saying goes ... "Yer gets nowt fer nowt" ... nothing's free!
