Managing competence for safety related systems. Part 1: Key guidance

A safety-related system is a system whose correct operation is necessary for ensuring or maintaining safety. This guidance aims to describe the core requirements for a competence management system (CMS) to enable organisations to meet the UK legal requirements for competence for safety-related systems in general. It is for all staff at all levels of responsibility with an organisation that work on safety-related systems, including those in the supply chain.
