Safe set up at home (advice to the public on interconnecting mains powered equipment)
A factfile from by the IET
Much of today’s mains-powered domestic entertainment and multi-media equipment is Class II in construction, which means that it has a two-wire mains lead with no protective earth conductor. Such equipment individually has to conform to safety standards in regard to maximum touch (leakage) current that can flow from it into a person.
