About this event

Whenever an accident occurs anywhere on the United Kingdom Railway Network it is necessary to thoroughly investigate the cause of the incident to prevent further occurrences and this work is undertaken by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch.

There are two centres one at Derby and one at Farnborough.  Because of this it is possible for a team of inspectors to rapidly attend any incident location within UK borders. And during 2015 their teams attended almost 300 accident and incident sites.

Rowan Joachim will explain the background of RAIB and how this work is carried out. Also she will outline the results of a number of specific cases. It has the ingredients for a stimulating presentation.
