About this event

The Air Ambulance Service provides two local services across five counties:
-Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA)
-Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA)
These two helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles. They cover many of the UK’s major road networks including the M1, M6, M69 and M42. With an average response of just 13 minutes, between them they attend on average six missions a day.
The visit provides an opportunity to explore the Agusta 109 helicopter with one of the air ambulance service’s pilots and medics; appreciate the technical systems and medical equipment on-board the aircraft; and understand more about the wider operational aspects of the mission, including the challenging situations that they regularly encounter.
The remarkable work of the Air Ambulance Service is only possible through donations from members of the community. Any donations made at the end of the visit would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively you may donate directly via their website: https://theairambulanceservice.org.uk/donate/

Meet in the car park adjacent to the Local Air Ambulance building at 19:00.

Robotic systems are perhaps at their most valuable when carrying out tasks that would otherwise put humans in danger. In some cases they give us visibility or enable operations in environments so extreme humans could not even wilfully venture - space, nuclear and deep subsea.
