About this event

Find out about theMidHants Railway Watercress Line's Heritage Lottery Fund supported Canadian Pacific Project.  This talk covers the history of the steam locomotive at the heart of this project Merchant Navy Class locomotive 35005 'Canadian Pacific' and its two wooden framed carriages.  Exploring the work that the staff and volunteers of theMidHants Railway are completing to get this locomotive back to working order and the issue that have been found in its restoration. It will also cover the large outreach and educational programme included in the project which sees apprentices and the long term unemployed learn new skills.
Dr Becky Peacock is the Outreach and Interpretation Officer at the Mid Hants Railway.  Previously Dr Peacock completed a doctorate at Southampton University focused in The Future of Museum Communication: Strategies for engaging Audiences on Archaeology
