About this event

Our daily lives will be supported and governed by many digital machines:  intelligent fridges that order our milk, digital assistants that pay our bills, machines that diagnose our illnesses or provide legal advice, cars that take us to work, planes that fly us on holiday.  All of this will be, and already is, supported by a complex digital infrastructure of machines and people.  Good ‘cyber security’ is clearly essential and now intersects every branch of engineering and technology.  How do we equip the profession to the extent society would expect?

Dr Paul Thorlby, CTO for security and Cyber and Intelligence Group Leader at QinetiQ, will talk about the challenges we face and the shift in perspective that will be needed to deal with this rapidly evolving world.
