About this event

The English Lakes have provided important transport lifelines for hundreds of years, linking lakeshore communities, national railways, and supporting the development of local industries. The rich heritage of the Lake District vessels have ranged from small launches to car ferries and steamers capable of carrying more than 700 passengers.
The speaker is Rob Beale - one of the youngest skippers of these large boats. He has also the author of several books on these cruisers and has an in-depth knowledge and passion for Windermere and the Lake District as a whole. See flyer for more details.

Refreshments will be available from 10:30 and the talk will tart at 11:00.
The talk is followed by an optional three course lunch which must be booked by returning the flyer that accompanied the Programme Card or by contacting George Currie on 01768 862663.

Booking is not essential for the talk, but helps with the arrangements.  Please reserve a place by using the link.
