About this event

The Manchester Retired Members Group of the IET are presenting an evening of thought provoking facts which challenge conventional ideas & thinking on these two major critical subjects. Whether you are committed to Nuclear Power or otherwise, to Climate Change or otherwise, it is vitally important to hear and understand opposing views and facts to those often accepted as the norm by many. This lecture brings two very eminent speakers to Manchester to professionally present facts as you've probably never heard them explained before.

Dr. Carl Clowes is an internationally recognised expert on the case against Nuclear Generation presenting a wide ranging and expertly researched argument for his case. He will present information on UK's electrical energy; our current generation mix as well as the UK's current & proposed nuclear plant. He will discuss the Fukushima Incident and its effects on the population. His arguments will be supported by evidence that will satisfy our generation needs by alternative means.

Mr. Stan Bowes was CEO of a major pallet manufacturing company, and President of the world’s largest regulatory body in the industry.  As such he travelled the world on industry-related matters, speaking at conferences in many countries.

The lecture is open to all and will not be presented as a highly technical set of facts but will be targeted at a wide audience range which will be easily understood by everyone.

The lecture will take place in The Manchester Conference Centre's Lecture Theatre and will be preceded by one of their excellent buffets. Register yourself a free place from the web link below.
