Eur Ing S. Mohammad Ali FIChemE

Mohammad Ali is a chemical engineering graduate from Imperial College. He worked for a US oil company for 36 years before taking early retirement. The last 20 years of his work was in process safety. He representated his company at the Pressure Relief Sub-committee of the American Petroleum Institute (API) for about 15 years and was the chairman of the sub-committee from 2005 to 2008. Mohammad has ran many in-house training courses on pressure relief at various sites in the UK and in the USA.

This presentation will cover the fundamentals of pressure relief in the chemical industry. It will include codes and standards, types of relief devices, causes of overpressure, sizing, installation and disposal systems.
