Cybersecurity

This presentation will be given by the leadership team of ISC2 Eastern Chapter.  The acronym ISC2 (or (ISC)² ) refers to the “International Information System Security Certification Consortium”.

The presentation is hosted by the Peterborough Joint Panel, which is supported by the IET and the IMechE.

The following text has been edited from information provided by the speakers:-

The initial discussion will be around The Community Cyber Ambassador scheme underpinned locally by Cambridgeshire constabulary, and will include some of the business issues in particular industry sectors.   

  The Cyber Ambassador scheme has a foundation of basic Cyber hygiene with relevant updates based on what law enforcement are seeing in the community.

 Naming a few areas:-

•        Automotive scams

•        Child protection

•        Impact from Cyber attacks

•        Ransomware

 

  There are a number of agencies who can provide information and support to the public. Some of these are commonly known and others are not so well known.  There will be information about:-

•        Where to report

•        Where to get advice

•        Who to tell

•        What to look out for


 Additional detail will also given on terminology that is changing all the time and can sometimes be confusing.

Beyond this we will give an insight to some of the business issues and behaviours to combat Cybercrime within different sectors, including:-

•        Telecommunications

•        Energy

•        Finance

•        Enterprise
