About this event

This seminar is pitched for senior project / program executives giving them a strategic view about Building Information Modelling (BIM). The seminar will illustrate using real life examples of how BIM can be and has been successfully adopted in building and civil infrastructure projects, the typical TCO and BIM enabled project management process.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is to be adopted in major government public works projects starting 2018, according to the HKSARG Policy Address 2017. This technical seminar is pitched for senior project executives giving them a) a concise and useful explanation of what the “B”, “I”, and “M” in BIM mean; b) the values and applications of BIM in infrastructure and building projects; c) the implementation strategy of BIM from senior project executive perspective; and d) the total cost of ownership (TCO) of typical BIM projects, preparations needed to adopt BIM.

Mr. Andy Chan is the founding member of the buildingSMART Hong Kong and a professional member of the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) specializing in civil infrastructure project.  Andy is currently responsible for designing and standardizing BIM process to maximize the values of BIM from design and construction stage to operation and maintenance stage for private organizations, consultants and main contractors.
