About this event

The Newsprinters site at Knowsley was born out of, and on, the existing News UK Newspapers site at Prescot on the outskirts of Liverpool.
Operating since summer 2007, the plant houses five manroland Colorman XXL presses and is capable of producing 430,000 newspaper copies an hour.
The Colorman presses, fed by up to 220 plates an hour from each of five Agfa CTP lines, are installed in-line and configured in pairs of five units on each side of two folders, plus a single press of five units with its own dedicated folder.

In 2012 a Finishing department with 2 Ferag trim, onsert and poly bagging lines were installed.  Line 1 has the additional ability to insert and stitch.

Start of visit: 1:30pm

End of visit: 4:00pm (approximately)
