About this event

The talk will be an insider's (MIMechE) view of the wide-ranging engineering problems and their solutions based on the sort of questions that might be in your minds like, how was navigation achieved to meet the French coming the other way, what happened to the spoil, why is the terminal so far from the tunnel entrance, how is train stability controlled in such big rolling stock on standard gauge rails, how to load a 40 tonne lorry onto a sprung rail truck and what about environmental issues?
