About this event

Why are you bothered about joining IET Hong Kong membership? As a MIET (Member of IET), IET Hong Kong offers a wide variety of seminars, technical visits and large-scale exhibitions to fulfill CPD requirement. You can definitely get all first-hand resources and information of the latest engineering development and even chartership! Basically it links you to the engineering world.

In this presentation, Mr Edward Lo will share his working experiences as a professional engineer in ASM, KCRC & MTR. Besides, he would focus how participating in activities (e.g. seminars, technical visits, workshops) after becoming MIET motivates him to overcome the challenges in working at the above companies and achieve chartership (i.e. becoming a successful and professional engineer). Finally, he would share the changes in life and work after gaining chartership in IET Hong Kong.

Mr Edward Lo started his career in ASM as Software Engineer, and changed the field in railway industry after joining KCRC. He is currently working as a design engineer in MTR on Main Control System and Training Simulator System for railway extension projects, as well as the designer of an asset replacement project on TV Network System and Panels for the existing MTR stations.

Apart from registering as Chartered Engineer through IET, he is also a Project Management Professional (PMP), awarded by Project Management Institute (PMI). Moreover, he was the Chairman of Younger Member Section in Hong Kong Branch and Ordinary Member of Council in UK. He is now serving as the Ordinary Member of Management Section, as well as Railway and Transport Section in the Local Network.
