About this event

CISCO Annual Lecture : China's anti VPN systems

Graham Bartlett (CISCO) will look at the implications of China fortifying its Great Firewall.  It means that it will be harder to access the dozens of overseas websites that are banned in the country, such as Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.  New rules will force domestic VPN providers to register with regulators.

These changes could make it more difficult for some foreign businesses to operate websites in China and seems to contradict the Chinese government's desire for increased globalisation at the Davos forum last week.

Programme

  • Doors open 7 pm
  • Light refreshments
  • Talk starts 7.30 pm
  • Talk finishes by 9.30 pm

Reasons to attend
