About this event

The IET SA & NT Local Network will be hosting this prestigious dinner event at the Parliamento Restaurant on North Terrace, Adelaide on the evening of Monday 29 May 2017. The Kirby Award Dinner is an opportunity to join the celebration of local talent and network with engineers and other professionals. The James N Kirby Award is presented to an individual who has achieved outstanding eminence, distinction and public recognition in any sphere of activity, not necessarily engineering. The award is not regularly presented but the IET SA & NT Local Network has the pleasure of awarding it this year, to recognise the leadership of many significant engineering and infrastructure projects across the state. It is with great pleasure that the IET SA&NT Local Network offers local businesses the opportunity to attend the Kirby Award Dinner to share this prestigious occasion with keynote speaker Mr Rod Hook and hear his vision for the future of transportation.

As the largest multi-discipline engineering institution in the world, the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s community includes local networks across Australia. The Local Networks support IET members with events and professional development opportunities. As part of the wider engineering community across Australia, the SA/NT local network hosts an annual networking dinner and other significant events including the annual Professional Networks Event (PNE) in Adelaide.

Social Event - Fri 28 July 2017 at 10:00

Engineering Open House Day takes place on Friday 28 July 2017 (with the exception of two events) and aims to help children (7 - 16 years-old) and their parents understand what it’s like to work as an engineer. It gives them special, behind-the-scenes access to a wide variety of organisations to demonstrate how creative and innovative a career in engineering could be.
