Dear One and All!

Business plan is a decision-making tool and there is no fixed content for a business plan. But here are the typical questions to give an insight into the topic:

Describe the product
What problem does the company's product or service solve?
What niche will it fill?
What is the company's solution to the problem?

Define target group
Who are the company's customers, and how will the company market and sell its products to them?
What is the size of the market for this solution?

Develop the strategy
What is the business model (how will it make money)?

Know your rivals
Who are the competitors and how will the company maintain a competitive advantage?

Define future development
How does the company plan to manage its operations as it grows?

Describe your team
Who will run the company and what makes them qualified to do so?

Deal with risks
What are the risks and threats confronting the business and what can be done to mitigate them?

Resources needed
What are the company's capital and resource requirements?

Please remember that our jury judges the business plan, not just the product idea!

We suggest to submit a business plan of maximum 5 pages (remember, deadline is 27th July 2017) and to prepare a 10min presentation to compete on 10th August 2017.

The IET Birmingham Network wishes you lots of success!
