About this event

GIS provides the integration of technology into a strategic approach to sustainability. Even it is no clear definition to define smart planning (smart future) but broadly a city plan/development that and integrates conditions of all of its critical infrastructures, including roads, bridges, tunnels, rails, subways, airports, seaports, communications, water, power, even major buildings, can better optimize its resources, plan its preventive maintenance activities, and monitor security aspects while maximizing services to the public would be accepted as a smart future.  Cities are our fundamental building blocks throughout the years, with the significant contribution from various technologies like computer science, information technology, remote sensing, advance multimedia world etc, GIS evolved from traditional geographer’s or cartographer’s tool for surveying and planning to a rapidly expanding primary technology for understanding our planet and related opportunities to foster a sustainable world. GIS technology bridges the gap between different sectors and acts as an integrated cross platforms to collect, manage, compile, analyze and visualize, temporal information for sustainable urban planning, development.

Ken Leung GIS Solution Manager, Esri China (Hong Kong) Limited

Ken Leung is the GIS Solution Manager of Esri China (Hong Kong) Limited. He focuses in business development and plays a role in the revenue growth of the Company. He works closely with the clients to understand their needs as well as the internal technical team to deliver customized GIS solutions to customers in Hong Kong and Macao. Having been worked in the GIS field for over 15 years, Ken has been involving in plenty of GIS projects in which he has gained valuable experiences in using and designing Esri GIS solution. In addition, he participates in promoting the latest Esri GIS technology to local community through different presentations.
